Juneteenth Committee Application
Thank you for your interest in serving as a committee member for Tarboro’s 2026 Juneteenth Festival. This one-day, special event is hosted annually on June 19th in partnership with the town of Tarboro, Freedom Org, and other community partners. Every year, we honor the historical importance of the liberation of African Americans with the passage of the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution.
In essence, we are celebrating liberation, community, and Black history and culture. We are excited to potentially collaborate with you to bring this event to life.

Juneteenth Festival Committee members serve in a voluntary capacity between April and July of each year. As a committee member, you will be tasked with assisting in the execution of this year’s Juneteenth Festival, as well as pre- and post-event logistics. Committee members will be assigned to the highest areas of need in the event production process.

Each application will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the event’s core planning team. Expect to hear back within 2-3 weeks regardless of your selection for the committee.
In the event you are selected, we will send you the next steps. If we have reached our maximum number of needed committee members, we will promptly follow up with you about your submission and may reach out to you for ways you may be able to provide day of support.
